Ask Adam League - Group: AskAdamLeague.com http://askadamleague.com/the-league/?group=2 Simple:Press Version 4.3.4 Don The Producer on Gravatars and Avatars. How to put your image up on our site. http://askadamleague.com/the-league/news-announcements/gravatars-and-avatars-how-to-put-your-image-up-on-our-site/#p27 News and Announcements http://askadamleague.com/the-league/news-announcements/gravatars-and-avatars-how-to-put-your-image-up-on-our-site/#p27 For sophisticated Internet people:

We use gravatars on our site.

For all others:

Your image that shows up on our site is called an avatar, an image that represents yourself online. But we also use something called a gravatar. A gravatar is just like an avatar but it is a "Globally Recognized Avatar." It simply links to your email address so whenever you enter that email address as criteria for participating in a website, like posting a comment on the Ask Adam League, this gravatar will be your avatar. It just follows you around to whatever website you use your email address with.

So, if you want to use an avatar on the Ask Adam League make sure you are logged in and go to your profile page. You can find this on our sidebar as "Edit Profile". Click on "Select Your Avatar" and you can upload any image you want. Whatever you select here will only work for the Ask Adam League specifically.

If you want to use a gravatar then go here. This is the logo you want to look for:
Gravatar

The instructions are simple. Create an account and assign an image to the email address that you want to use. Provided that all of your earlier comments were used with your 'gravatared' email address when you assimilated to The League, then all of your postings will be retroactively updated and all new comments will have your new gravatar. Cool

Don The Producer on Hey! How's the Show?! -Questionnaire http://askadamleague.com/the-league/technical-issues-feedback/hey-hows-the-show-questionnaire/#p24 Technical Issues & Feedback http://askadamleague.com/the-league/technical-issues-feedback/hey-hows-the-show-questionnaire/#p24 Hey dudes and dudettes. We love your guys' feedback. We've got a short questionnaire for those who'd be gracious enough to take the time to answer some questions and let us know how we are doing. This is called audience testing and we do it to help us to know how we can make the show even better. So check out the Questionnaire below and give it a go. If you are shy then you can just email it back to me. Thanks Leaguers.

Ask Adam League Questionnaire

Name:

Age:

Sex:

Location:

Do you listen to podcasts?

If so, what are a few of your favorites?

This section to be
answered after listening to an episode of "The Ask Adam League"
podcast.

Which episode(s) did you listen to?

Did you listen to the podcast in its entirety?

    If not, why not?

What were aspects of the podcast you enjoy? Be as detailed as you feel
comfortable with. Any observations as to quality, organization, or content are
acceptable.

What aspects of the podcasts did you not like? Be as critical as possible with
what you didn't like and why.

Ask Adam League currently uses the question, "What would you ask the most
observant person in the world" to get it's questions which are easier to
adapt for the podcast. Would you have an alternate question to ask participants
of Ask Adam League?

Using this new question or the original, what would you
"Ask Adam League"?

When persons ask questions to the Ask Adam League, we can use their real names
and locations, or a psuedonym created by the League. What do you think of using
pseudonyms for persons asking questions on "Ask Adam League" (IE Bastian
from Fantasia or Mr Holmes from Baker Street)?

With Psuedonyms, do you prefer them to be mildy funny named or regular (such as
Christine from Phoenix or James from Detroit)?

What would you rate the podcast, on a scale of 1 - 10?

Would you like to explain why?

Would you listen to this podcast again?

    If so, why?

    If not, why?

Do you have friends who also listen to podcasts?

If yes, do you believe they would be interested in this
podcast?

Thanks guys!

I love this forum because it integrates so perfectly with WordPress but it does so many annoying random things you don't have control over (without hacking the core code) it gets a little frustrating. I'm holding out hope that the next version will open up some more control and simplify certain things.

At any rate, thank you again FNG.

Hope to chat with you again in the future.

The fluid-ish layout in on the forum pages was the culprit.

Fixed.

You are right. That is some messed up CSS. That didn't happen on the development server but I will have it fixed shortly.

Oh and your post also revealed another formatting issue. So a big double thank you for the feedback.

Thank you.

There are still some minor formatting issues/glitches that we probably aren't going to fix for a variety of pragmatic reasons, but mostly because a new version of the Simple Press forum we are using is forthcoming as soon as they get it tested enough to get out of beta. The new version of the forum supposedly has a vastly improved CSS id/selector scheme and hopefully improved markup to reflect the improvements in the CSS scheme.

Some of the things that remain to be fixed in the forum might be more easily dealt with in the next version. So until then if you see some minor glitches or oddities please forgive them for the next month.

That said if you encounter formatting or functionality issues that are impeding your ability to enjoy or use the forum (or the website in general) please let us know as soon as possible.

When submitting bugs please include what browser/version and operating system you use and any other details that led up to the problem and might help replicate the problem.

Thank you and I look forward to chatting with you all in the near future.

Please start using the forum. We are crowdsourcing the forum testing and need every League member to chip in!

Once we announce that the forum is officially done there will be a sticky post of forum rules and etiquette to deal with loser trolls. In the meantime the forum is a lawless wild frontier. Have fun.

So if you find anything broken please post a note here (describing as fully as possible how or what happened so we can replicate it). Though honestly if you are posting a bug about the forum before 2011 it will probably be fixed when we actually start claiming the forum is done.
